Victoria Cabin
Victoria Cabin is located
centrally in the Western UP, which
allows guests the ability to experience the wilderness in all four
seasons. Our vacation getaway includes
full kitchen, two bedrooms, one and ˝ baths, washer/dryer, DVD/VCR, and
satellite TV. Victoria Cabin easily
accommodates 8 to 12 adults. We are
equipped to meet your every need.
Situated four miles from Rockland, Michigan, Victoria Cabin is located within the historic
copper mining town of Victoria. At the turn of the century, copper was
mined in the hills surrounding the cabin.
The Victoria Restoration
Site is located ˝ mile from
Victoria Cabin, allowing visitors an insight into the lives of the copper
miners and their families.
Another sight visitors may
like to see is the great Lake Superior. Visible from the hill
behind the cabin, the lake is approximately 16 miles from Victoria.
Ontonagon harbor has access to the lake with the Ontonagon
Marina. Along the beach, visitors can
fish, swim, or sightsee all the lake has to offer.

Winter Playground:
Welcome
to Big Snow Country! Come enjoy Lake
Superior’s lake effect snow.
Located right off trail 13, Victoria Cabin is a snowmobiler’s
haven. Trail 13 is part of the snowmobile trail system that weaves
throughout the Western Upper Peninsula. You can enjoy all the beauty and sights Michigan’s wilderness
has to offer from the comfort of your snowmobile.
For
guests seeking other winter activities, Porcupine Mountain
State Park is located 30 miles from Victoria.
Here, visitors can experience downhill skiing, cross country skiing,
snowshoeing, and snowboarding. And
finally, if guests are seeking fun family sledding, the hills surrounding the
cabin offer many opportunities. With
or without a sled, sledding on the hills in Victoria is the ultimate experience.
Summer Sunshine:
Get
your fishing poles ready!! For family or friends in search of the ultimate
fishing experience, Victoria Cabin is located ˝ mile from the Victoria
Dam Reservoir. The Reservoir, fed by the West Branch of the Ontonagon River, holds such trophies as small mouth bass,
northern pike, and walleye. It is
easily accessible and free to the public with the newly constructed boat
ramp. Guests to the cabin can enjoy a
peaceful afternoon fishing. If lucky, guests may observe one of the many bald
eagles that make their homes in the trees surrounding the lake.
For
guests seeking other warm weather activities, the area surrounding Victoria
offers hiking with access to the North Country Trail, located ˝ mile from the cabin; summertime
berry picking, with the wild Michigan
thimbleberry and black raspberry patches that grow throughout the forest;
and off-road recreation, with access to ORV trails minutes away.
Fall Foliage:
If Fall
is your season, then come to Victoria Cabin where guests experience the
season in the ultimate setting. The
forest comes alive this time of year with a vibrant radiance that only fall
can evoke. Guests to the cabin must
bring their cameras to capture the magnificence of the season.
Nothing is as beautiful as the leaves’ colors in the reflecting
sunshine.

guests seeking a hunting lodge, Victoria Cabin can meet your needs as
well. The cabin is surrounded in part
by the Ottawa National Forest and state land making

For visitors looking to
experience the growth and harmony of
nature in bloom stay at Victoria
Cabin in the spring. Guests can easily
walk throughout the forest to experience nature’s rebirth. As guests saunter through the woods, the feel, smell, and breath of nature is all around. Come and see our creeks come alive, our
birds re-settle, and our flowers stretch their early blooms towards the
sunshine. Victoria in the Spring is an awakening of
the heart.
